Dear Jonah,
While it is your daddy who is blessed with the ability to write, I have decided that I am going to write you a letter once a month letting you know what is happening in our life. It is my hope that someday you will appreciate having these letters as you read them to your kids. I always want you to know how much your mommy and daddy love you.
I loved you even before you were conceived. You see, ever since I was young, I wanted to be a mommy. I couldn't picture my life without kids in it. I would dream about being a mom. While parenthood is a lot different than I thought it would be, being a Mom is even better than I had imagined.
Last year you became a big brother. I know sometimes being a big brother can be a rough gig, but you have stepped up to the plate. Your baby sister loves you! She lights up like a firework every time you walk into the room. I hope your relationship with grow and you will be close when you are older. Daddy is your best buddy. You two love to laugh and pretend together. Right now at night you are a dragon and you love to fly in daddy's arms as you "breathe" fire on Caroline and I. I love it, your dogie Eli hates it and will run away if the dragon gets too close. You think it is hilarious!
I can not believe how much you have grown since Christmas. Yes, I said Christmas. In one short month you have matured and became a Big Boy! I am so happy that the potty training is starting to sink in and we are I am having less tantrums about accidents. Even your teachers at school have noticed how much you have grown up! I am having a hard time with you getting older. Sometimes I just want you to be a baby again so we can rock in our rocking chair and sing "Pooh Corner" by Kenny Loggins. That is how I got you to fall asleep when you were a baby.
I will be writing again next month with more details about what our life is like at this moment. I know you are probably to young to remember what your life was like at almost 4 years old, but I hope I can help you understand what an amazing little boy you are.
I am so unbelievable proud to be your mommy.
I love you,
Mommy
I am participating with several other bloggers in composing letters to our sons. Please visit Life With Lisa for another beautiful letter!January 29, 2013
It is hard to capture my son's style. As he is only 3 years old people assume that we are the ones who pick out his clothes... well that is not necessarily the case. I remember back when I was pregnant with my son and how my husband and I had grand notions of how we were going to raise him. Of course, those flew out the window as soon as we actually began the parenting. My husband insisted that Jonah would not wear anything with characters or pictures on it. As you can imagine for any kid, that proved to be difficult. Trying to chose clothes for our son has been nearly impossible.
You see, our son is very stubborn. He likes what he likes and he wants it his way.
Especially when it comes to what he wears!
Not only what he wears, but how he is going to wear it all by himself:
My daughter, on the other hand, is a go with the flow kinda gal! She doesn't care what she is wear, or not wearing! She can be without a sock and be just as happy as a clam. Jonah wouldn't be able to handle it. Speaking of missing sock... check out this video we captured of Caroline crawling for one of the first times ever! We captured this moment using our new Windows 8X phone by HTC! I absolutely love that you can get video quality like that from a phone. It makes capturing lives moments so much easier! What is your family's clothing style? Will your kids wear what you want them too?

A huge thank you to Windows 8X by HTC for providing a phone for us. Opinions are based on my own experiences and are 100% mine. #Troop8X #HTC8

I took a week off from the blog (I hope you didn't miss me too much) to hang out with my family. We all needed the break as we are still getting used to being back to school. We had a great time playing outside on the swings and playing inside with our new cars play set. How did you spend your holiday week?

I am not sure if I mentioned that our new house's neighborhood has a pool. We have been spending a lot of time there this summer. Here are a few pics!
